| Small Groups |
|
We define small groups as a few people (usually from 4 to 20) getting together on an ongoing and regular basis for a focused purpose. It might be to get together with other believers to talk and pray; to do a Bible study; to learn about a particular theme or topic in the Bible (like worship, prayer, healing, the prophetic, etc.); or to join together for support or a special interest (like marriage, parenting, grief or divorce). Whatever the topic or purpose, it is (1) regularly scheduled and ongoing, and (2) relationally focused. We strongly encourage our ministries to also operate with this mindset — rather than being exclusively task-oriented, ministries should also be centers of relational connectedness. Small Groups are our primary mechanism for relationship building, equipping, serving, growing in our gifts and talents, providing mutual accountability, and mentoring. Our goal is for small groups to be safe environments that encourage real interconnectedness and Christ-like growth in spirit and character. An atmosphere of love and acceptance is encouraged so that the needs of each member can be addressed. We also encourage all small groups to think about ways they can incorporate an element of outward focus into their group. All members of New Covenant are expected to join one of our small groups that are available nearly every night of the week and in locations throughout the Lehigh Valley. To get involved, you do not have to be a member of NC4. Almost all groups are open to regular attenders and visitors.
